No one really knows his past, he just kind of showed up one day, set up a tent, declared himself camp ranger and has never left. He's been told multiple times that he's not a real camp ranger, but he shows up, provides support when it's needed and seems to know at least a little bit about camping. Slowly, he's become more and more confident in his self-declared position and now he deadset on creating as many opportunities for people to party outside. Based out of Twin Ponds Lodge, Ranger Alli is nonprofit organization dedicated to getting people outside.
Alex "Alli" Knapp's, the founder of Ranger Alli, has an origin story starting in the small rural town of Piketown, Pennsylvania, moving to Scranton, PA for his undergraduate degree, eventually he landed in Pittsburgh, where he remained for over a decade. He grew up an active camper, hiker, kayaker, and adventurer. He's hiked and camped all over the east coast, biking the Great Allegheny Passage, kayaking the Delaware Water Gap, hiking over 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail, and summiting three 5.4-5.7 climbs of Seneca Rocks.
Professionally, Alli built a career in the behavioral health system starting at a very young age. Having worked with/for such organizations as Disability Rights PA, Youth Collaboratory, PA SOC Partnership, Youth & Family Training Institute, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
Alex is currently the Member Experience & Bar Manager part time at Twin Ponds Lodge, and serves part time as the Executive Director of TPL Social Club. He is new to the wilderness of Maine but adapting quickly with the help of Ranger Alli and Dancin' Dave.
Dancin' Dave is Ranger Alli's trusted pal, sidekick, and bestie. If one of them is getting in trouble, the other probably is too. Ranger Alli is really good at figuring out a solution, while Dancin' Dave seemingly always knows how to make the solution happen.
The same can be said about the relationship between Dancin' Dave's inspiration, David Brannen and Alli. David is the Maintenance and Facilities Manager at Twin Ponds Lodge. A native of South Portland, Maine, Dave has worked for over 15 years in maintenance and repair, spending over a decade as the Director of Maintenance with the Catholic Diocese of Portland,
David is a mechanic, electrician, engineer, carpenter, and landscaper. If you dream it he can build it and if you break it, he can fix it. He spends his free time hunting rodents with his dog Leon.
Birds are not real. They are cameras controlled by the government to spy on the people. Covid was a way to keep us in our houses while they changed the batteries in the birds. Stay woke friends and #trustnobird
